GS1 Barcodes

DressTech merchandise is shelf-ready and marked with GS1 barcodes. Here’s a quick break-down of UPC-A codes:

1) Number System – The first digit designates a product category, such as non-food items, over-the-counter drugs, or coupons. Most products begin with a “0” for the general product category.

2) Manufacturer Code – The next block of numbers specifies the manufacturer. For example, DressTech merchandise always includes the prefix 81004949.

3) Product Code – The product code is unique to each product.

4) Check Digit – The last digit is mathematically related to the digits that precede it. Systems use this digit to detect errors. 

GS1 Data Hub

DressTech maintains validated product data in GS1 US Data Hub. Product data includes weight, dimensions, product names, and descriptions. Many high-end retail systems connect to GS1 Data Hub to sync product data. Learn more about GS1 US Data Hub.
